Manning Plans Homeless Prayer Vigil for Mayor Bass
Pastor Sherman D. Manning, founder of Yes We Can Worship Center (YWCWC), and the Baptist Ministers Conference of Los Angeles under the leadership of Pastor K.W. Tulloss have called a National Homeless Prayer Vigil for L.A. Mayor Karen Bass. The vigil will be held on Friday, February 3, at 7 p.m., at YWCWC, 10306 Avalon Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Pastor Sherman D. Manning is driven by compassion. While this may be a common value in religion, Manning lives compassion day-to-day as he strives to help the homeless and the incarcerated at his Yes We Can! Worship Center.
L.A.-based Yes We Can! caters to multiple cultures and people from all different walks of life. The church has developed a variety of non-profit programs to assist the homeless, jobless and those challenged by life’s difficulties. Temporary housing, job search aid, assistance in adjusting to life outside prison and other outreach services are just a few of Pastor Manning’s passions.

Pastor Sherman D. Manning never wanted a traditional church.
He didn’t want “the responsibility or the headache.”
“When I started out as an evangelist, the easiest thing to do was to stand in the pulpit and preach, then go back to the hotel and go to the next city,” said Manning, a divorced father of two. “Pastoring a church, you have to pay bills, organize, deal with all the headache that comes with it. It’s a monumental task. You have to be called to do it. That’s not what I wanted to do.”
What Manning, 49, wanted to do was help people. It was an aspiration that began at an early age when he initially decided he wanted to be a pastor.
