About the Tiny Homes Project
A unique, transformative solution for homelessness crisis
Los Angeles is facing an unprecedented homelessness crisis. On any given night, over 60,000 people are without shelter across the county, with thousands more living in conditions that barely meet basic human needs.
This crisis affects everyone – individuals, families, veterans, and youth – many of whom face mental health challenges, trauma, and a lack of access to supportive resources. As the housing affordability gap widens and essential services fall short, homelessness remains one of the most pressing issues our city has ever confronted.
Unlike traditional shelters or temporary housing, this project is built on a foundation of holistic healing and community integration. It’s more than just a roof over someone’s head; it’s a supportive environment designed to help residents recover from the complex traumas often linked to life on the streets, such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Street Disorder) and deep-rooted depression.

Underpin the message with a sub heading
With guidance from Bishop Sherman D. Manning and architecture by the renowned Norberto Nardi, each tiny home is crafted to be a sanctuary. Residents are not only provided with safe, stable housing but are also invited into a community that actively works to rebuild lives. Weekly classes, skills training, and mental health support sessions will address key issues from job readiness to emotional resilience. A dedicated green space for gardening and farming allows residents to reconnect with nature, providing an outlet for therapy and self-care.
This interfaith initiative is powered by collaboration – faith leaders, counselors, and volunteers from all walks of life join hands to offer mentorship, guidance, and compassion. The Tiny Homes Project is more than a temporary solution; it’s a model for a new approach to homelessness, one that prioritizes dignity, support, and sustainable transformation.
